- What's Ancör® (Solid Surface)?
- Ancör® is a non-porous blend of resins and mineral fillers and coloring agents that combine for one of the most durable, stain resistant, and beautiful surfaces to be found anywhere in the solid surface industry. This unique blend creates a material that has the appearance and feel of stone but cuts, sands, and works just like wood. As the name 'solid surface' implies, Ancör® is solid all the way through allowing three-dimensional shaping. This characteristic gives you a surface that is always renewable. Cigarette burns, small nicks, and surface scratches are easily removed with light sanding. The non-porous surface will not support the growth of bacteria like natural products, including granite, marble, or other natural stone, hard woods, tile joints, even seams that are found in the use of plastic laminates.

One of the big advantages of a solid surface counter is the ability to attach a sink or bowl style of your choosing to your counter in a seamless application that makes for easy cleaning without the dirt, food particles, bacteria, etc. that collects in the joints between typical sink and counter installations. All solid surface kitchen sinks are available only in white. Vanity bowls are available in white and a limited range of colors. All solid surface sinks and vanity bowls may be purchased separately and used in an undermount application in conjunction with any other counter material.

Select from a variety of edge profiles to enhance your counter top. All Solid surface edge profiles can be applied to any freeform curves or radius. Color banding is also available in all colors or a brass inlay to match any decor.

| Ancör® (Solid Surface) Window Sills |
|
Solid Surface window sills come in standard widths of 4", 5", or 6" from 3/4" thick material. Maximum length is 144". When window sills are installed by Athenian Marble Corp., they may be ordered as 'eared' or 'non-eared' in standard 3/4" thick material or as 'eared' in custom 1 1/2" thick material. When shipped or ordered for customer pickup, sills may be ordered as 'non-eared' in 3/4" thick material with the customer specifying the exact length of each sill. Sills may also be ordered in standard 10' lengths of 3/4" thick material and custom fit. For 1 1/2" thick custom sills, the customer must supply the exact length of each window sill (including the length of ears). The customer will also be responsible for cutting the notch around the window casement wall.

Solid surface showers provide a beautiful and luxurious alternative to typical shower materials. All joints are sealed with 100% pure silicone. Because of the non-porous nature of solid surface, it may be used in conjunction with any other shower material. Standard Shower Pans are available, as are Custom Sized Shower Floors with a maximum size of 59" x 71" with center drain. Solid Surface Shower Accessories are available for use with any typical shower material. Contact Athenian Marble Corp. for site preparation instructions. Solid surface is only available as an installed product or to experienced contractors.
